About the role We support people who live in their own homes and also in registered care homes, and we enable them to increase their independence in many different ways. You’ll support people with everyday tasks, for example cooking, cleaning, managing finances and medication. Many people also require support with their personal care and mobility. You’ll also support people to access their community to do the things they want to do; for example shopping, going out for meals, socialising, doing sport or working, whatever they want to do! There are mentors and supportive colleagues to work with so you’ll be supported too.
About you You’ll need to be compassionate and able to adapt your approach to individual needs. Good communication skills and a positive, friendly outlook are a must, as is patience. You’ll need to be flexible with shift and weekend work as roles include 24/7 rotas. It’s also desirable (or, in some cases, essential) that you have a full driving licence. If you’re new to social care we provide full training, and plenty of support to gain further professional qualifications. We also provide a range of benefits. We also hold regular recruitment events – check out our website for further details.
Meet the Brandon Trust Team at our forthcoming Recruitment Events, in January we will be in Gloucester, Banbury, Cirencester, Cheltenham and Andover. Full updated information can be found on our website https://www.brandontrust.org/jobs-with-us/recruitment-open-days/ so come along to find out more
