Support Workers

Learning disability charity Brandon Trust has various rewarding support worker roles in the Cleeve Hill and Leckhampton areas. You’ll join experienced, friendly, supportive teams in enabling individuals to live a life of freedom. We provide full training and support to help you develop your career, and have full-time and part-time roles.

Meet us at our Support Worker Recruitment Road show: Stroud Jobs Fair, Stroud Library (2pm-4pm, 20 June), Churchdown Community Association (10am-12.30pm, 26 June), The Jobs Fair, Gloucester Guildhall (10am-1pm, 27 June), Gloucester Jobcentre (presentations at 11am and 12pm, 28 June), and Wotton Hall Social Club, Barnwood (10am-12.30pm, 29 June.

The role is very varied; your day will involve supporting the individuals with everyday tasks, for example cooking, cleaning their home and managing finances.

The individuals have complex health needs so you’ll also support fully with personal care and medication needs. There is a high level of manual handling, including pushing wheelchairs, for which you’ll receive full training.

You’ll also support the individuals to access their community to do the things they enjoy, for example, swimming, socialising, days out and visiting day centres. This may at times be working on a one-to-one basis.

You’re considerate and respect people’s differences. You have good communication skills and a positive, patient approach. You’ll need to be flexible and able to work shifts including weekends and sleepins/waking nights, as the roles include a 24/7 rota. A full driving licence is essential to drive mobility vehicles.

We provide full training, including the Care Certificate, a thorough induction and plenty of career development. Our choices employment contract provides flexible holiday and pension benefits.

Successful applicants for this role will require an enhanced DBS check.

We are an Equal Opportunities employer and welcome applicants from all sections of the community. VPTC/2018/329
