Senior Support Worker

logo

It’s a passion, not just a job
Our great people help make us the best and through their true passion, commitment and enthusiasm, deliver aspirational support to our customers every day.
We are looking for an energised and passionate colleague to join our service which provides support to ex-offenders. It is unique floating support service providing short-term interventions focused on housing, with the aim to prevent re-offending. The office base is in Cheltenham and the service covers the county. Some knowledge of the criminal justice system is useful - but not essential, we’ll support you all the way.
You’ll manage a caseload of customers, working closely with external agencies and our amazing team of Support Workers in delivering person centred support. We know that one size doesn’t fit all, so our customers lead their own support every step of the way. Together you’ll really make a difference, empowering our customers to achieve their goals and aspirations as outlined in their support plans and develop the independent living skills they need to successfully move on with a positive future.
You’ll help shape our services, undertake risk assessments, support planning, goal setting and regular reviews. You’ll also guide and allocate tasks to our Support Workers too. It’s really important to us that you have time to what you are really passionate about; making a real difference to our customers lives. So to free up your time, you’ll be given the latest IT kit, which could include a Surface Pro tablet and smart phone, supported by our new online integrated IT system which means that you don’t have to be in the office as you can complete support plans on the go.
A bit about you
With previous experience of working with vulnerable people in a support or care environment, you’ll have a great understanding of professional boundaries, safeguarding, risk assessment, confidentiality and be experienced in case management. It’s also important that you can work in holistic way building partnerships with external agencies and that you have strong IT skills too.
You’ll be working with a small team, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm although some flexibility may be required. You’ll work closely with other agencies and the team, but you’ll also be out in the community supporting customers.
We need you to have a driving licence, car and car insurance business cover as some travelling will be required.
If you are successful, we need you to have an Enhanced Disclosure Check through the Disclosure and Barring Service which we’ll pay for.
Make yourself at Home
We have a big role to play in tackling prejudice and discrimination. We want you to be yourself at Home Group and we value everything that makes you unique. We recognise and celebrate your differences and together we make Home Group a special and great place to live and to work. VPTC/2018/359
