SHARP Employability Skills is working closely with Glos C.C. Forwards Employment Team to provide placements and Job Coaches to people with learning difficulties and/or autism or physical disabilities across Gloucestershire.
As a Job Coach you need to have experience of working with vulnerable adults, preferably on a 1:1 basis. A Job Coach provides individualised support to a customer within a workplace for a short term period in order to help them towards working independently. A Job Coach will be expected to engage with employers, customers and job brokers to ensure that there is effective communication, advice and guidance throughout the placement. A Job Coach will also be required to provide reports, reviews and be able to set targets for the customers, therefore a good working knowledge of I.T. is necessary. A Job Coach needs to have the flexibility to work within a variety of work placements with different customers and travel to a number of locations across Gloucestershire. The nature of the job means that candidates need to be able to work flexible hours which may include evenings and weekends.
SHARP will provide the appropriate training to ensure that Job Coaches are following the training in systematic instruction approach required for working with our customers.
An enhanced DBS certificate is required which SHARP will apply for.
