About the role
You’ll provide excellent support to two individuals with exceptionally complex requirements; each lives in their own, adjoining home. You’ll support the individuals in all aspects of their daily lives, enabling their fullest participation in the life of their community.
You’ll be assigned area(s) of lead responsibility; for example autism, personality disorder, speech and language, positive behaviour management, psychiatry or health. As such you’ll be responsible for liaising with external professionals and devising support plans and risk assessments relating to your lead area. You’ll communicate this specialist knowledge to colleagues to produce a coherent and integrated package of support. You’ll also liaise with family members.
In the longer term you may also line manage support workers, however management experience isn’t required.
You’ll have demonstrable experience of supporting people through challenging times using Positive Behavioural Support. You’ll have experience of supporting people with learning disabilities including supporting those whose behaviour can challenge, those with mental health needs and with personality disorders.
You also have experience of working with multi-disciplinary teams and with people with non-verbal communication and self-harming behaviour.
You have a positive can-do attitude, are resilient and an innovative problem solver with a flexible attitude and are willing to try new activities. You’ll need to be flexible with regards to location, as in the future you may bring your skills and experience to the benefit of services in nearby locations.
You can work 24/7 shifts including weekends and evenings / nights. A full driving licence is essential for some roles.
