As a support worker you will support people with differing needs with all aspects of their lives. You will help people with the practical aspects of their lives, such as helping them to shop, prepare meals, wash themselves, clean their home, understand their money and take their medication.
You will enable the individuals you support to have an active social life, helping them to make friends and maintain friendships and to access and enjoy leisure activities.
Camphill Village Trust is an award-winning national charity supporting people with learning and other disabilities. We provide housing, care, support and day opportunities to people with learning and other difficulties.
Communities are based in beautiful semi-rural locations in Newnham, Gloucestershire, where 94 people are being supported.
We provide full induction, free training and support to obtain the Care Certificate when you first join us and to obtain further professional qualifications later if you want to do so.
Hourly rate of pay is £8.50 and we currently also pay for a sleep ins.

No qualifications or previous experience are needed. You may have previous experience in care, just be starting work or looking to do something different. What is important to us is that you share our values, have a positive attitude and a willingness to learn. You will be good at both listening to and talking with people, have a positive and patient approach to supporting people with daily activities and enjoy helping people learn and explore new things. You have a flexible approach and like work both as part a team as well as on your own.
You will be working on a rota which is normally fixed two weeks in advance. This will involve shifts that normally include working both daytime and evenings and some weekends and bank holidays and sleeping over on some nights.
You will need a full manual driving licence which allows you to drive in the UK, as you will be driving the charity’s vehicles.
