Assisting and enabling people to live their own lives.
Enabling choice and opportunity for people with a learning disability while supporting them in living, working and learning environments.
You will support people to express their needs, wishes and ambitions. You will share these with the team and then support the person to achieve them. This could include doing day to day activities to develop the person’s personal skills and joining in with recreational and leisure activities.
You will support people to keep in touch with their friends and family, and to make new friends.
You will be supporting people with their personal care and appearance. This may include supporting people with bathing and dressing.
You might support people who have specialist needs and are unable to participate fully in everyday life.
They may be elderly, have difficulty communicating or have other disabilities. Full training and support will be provided.
You will support people to access doctors, dentists, physiotherapists and other specialist services, using their advice to promote health and wellbeing.
You will support people to manage and administer their medication.
Support people to make healthy life choices, including food and exercise options.
You will contribute your ideas to the staff team to ensure a good service for each person being supported.
You will be supporting people to live safely in their own home, pay bills and ensure the person’s home and belongings are looked after.
You may be required to support someone with meal preparation and cooking meals, or be required to cook the meal for the person.
Contribute to ensuring that good quality inclusive financial planning happens in line with Aspire policy, the individual’s money support plans and decision making framework.
You will involve people in their support and share good practice with the rest of the team.
You will practice the requirements and responsibilities as detailed within our Health and Safety Policy and Procedures.
Maintain records, and support others to maintain records, in line with record keeping and data protection policies.
