Ancillary / Support Roles

Not all roles within social care involve delivering direct care to the individuals supported within the service. These roles are still essential to ensure care organisations can effectively support the individuals 

Admin assistant
You’ll support the day to day running of the business completing administration support typically support a business manager or registered manager. 

Cook or kitchen assistant
You’ll prepare, cook and serve meals to people usually in a nursing or residential home, or in a day care centre.

Housekeeper or domestic worker
You’ll ensure that the environment in a residential home or sheltered housing is safe, tidy and clean.

Driver or transport manager
You’ll provide transport for people who need care and support, for example to and from a day centre or to hospital appointments.

Maintenance
You’ll carry out practical maintenance jobs, usually in a residential home or sheltered housing.
