Proud to Care's Leadership & Management development pathway builds Gloucestershire's existing leadership and management development support in to a comprehensive social care bespoke pathway of learning. All components of the programme are fully funded, this is through Gloucestershire County Council's Proud to Learn & Proud to Care initiatives, Skills for Care and Gloucestershire's Integrated Care System.
Level 1 - E-Learning
This pathway is supported by initial e-learning to give individuals a basic understanding of management; this also ensures that individuals have the right entry knowledge before competing face to face training components of the pathway.
Individuals should start with completing the 'Introduction to Managing People' module available of Proud to Learn's e-learning Platform.
Other Leadership & Management modules which can be used to support those beginning their management journey or as CPD opportunities for experienced managers include;
- Conflict resolution
- Managing Absence
- Performance Management
- Change Management
- Coaching & Mentoring
- Time Management
Level 2 - Aspiring Managers Programme
Those wishing to progress into management roles can attend the Aspiring Managers Programme. It is a fantastic development opportunity for Senior Care & Support Staff wishing to progress to management. Staff who attend the programme don’t necessarily need to be line managers, but should have some supervision responsibility within their role.
This 4 day programme is fully funded through GCC Proud to Care Work stream.
Key focuses of the programme include:
- Successful behaviours for leaders & managers
- Developing a positive working culture
- Effective supervision
- Key drivers in Adult Social Care & relevant legislation
An Aspiring Managers Network has been launched to support those who have attended the programme, this is facilitated by Gloucestershire's Care Provider's Association.
Level 3 - Registered Managers Development Programme
Those in Deputy Manager or Registered Manager Roles are able to access the popular Registered Managers Development Programme. This 7 day programme is fully funded.

Registered Managers and their Deputy’s can also receive support from the Registered Managers Network facilitated by GCPA.
Level 4 - Transformational Leadership Programme
This programme is currently being piloted by Proud to Care's the Leadership & Management Sub-groups. More details will follow after formal evaluation of the programme.
