The Fundamentals of Care Programme

If you have any queries about the Fundamentals of Care Programme or would like to find out more contact the Proud to Care Team on ptc@gloucestershire.gov.uk

The Fundamentals of Care Programme is a clinical skills development programme designed to support the delivery of complex care within the community. Phase 1 gives participants the underlying knowledge and understanding of prevalent long term conditions, how to recognise deterioration and know when, who and how to escalate / signpost to for specialist advice or intervention. This will provide particpants with the
underpinning knowledge in order to progress to phase 2. Building on the understanding and enhanced knowledge developed in phase 1, phase 2 will focus on giving community care workers the competence to deliver initial clinically delegated tasks and interventions where it is safe and appropriate to do so.
