Gloucestershire Carers Hub

The Gloucestershire Carers Hub (GCH) supports unpaid carers throughout the county of Gloucestershire. The Hub offer advice, information and support to enable unpaid carers to think about their needs whilst offering support to someone else.

GCH run free, monthly Carer Aware Professionals Drop-In Information Sessions which are available to anyone who wants to find out more about the GCH service and what they do, including support offered to unpaid carers. 

They also offer a free Adult Carer Awareness e-learning course which looks at who is an unpaid carer, carer rights, and local support.

A carer is somebody of any age, who provides support or who looks after a family member, partner or friend who needs help because of frailty, physical or mental illness, addiction or disability.

Support could look like:

  • Providing emotional support via the telephone
  • Taking someone to appointments
  • Supporting with cooking, cleaning, shopping and other daily tasks
  • Assisting with dressing, cleaning and other personal care needs
  • Going in to check on someone regularly
