Young Gloucestershire can support young people by offering practical ways to find confidence and develop the skills needed to get on track and to move into a job, education or training.

YG offer the opportunity to participate in the King's Trust Team Programme to help prepare you for the world of work with training, qualification and new skills. Whether you fancy working one-to-one or as part of a group, if you are 16-25 we have lots of ways to help.

The King’s Trust Team programme will help build your confidence through work experience opportunities with local businesses to help improve how you communicate with different people and volunteering opportunities to help you gain experience or qualifications and short courses to boost your CV. YG offers a relaxed and informal environment that encourages you to take the lead, get stuck in, have real life experiences, try new activities and show yourself just what you are capable of. Gloucestershire College:

Skills Accelerator Course – is an intensive 8-week course to give you essential skills to help you find work or an apprenticeship. Gain the skills to set your CV apart from others and meet industry experts and motivational speakers.

  • Gain a Level 1 Award in Progression, with units on Preparing for a Recruitment Interview and Equality & Diversity.

  • Brush-up on your English and Maths.

  • Prepare for a meaningful work placement or employment APPLY: Through Gloucestershire College Website

 

Florence Academy; Pathway to Care

Pathway to Care is for anyone interested in working in adult social care. You don't need any previous care experience or qualifications to take this course. This course aims to build your knowledge of caregiving and what you can expect from a career in care, and to help you find your first role in social care. This course is for complete beginners and is designed to be taken before any other care qualifications, including the Care Certificate.
